Bangor University – Music Department
Bangor University have appointed TACP Architects to fully refurbish the School of Music and to provide them with a new extension.
Following the demolition of a redundant annex building, the main entrance was re configured to provide a new frontage to the building inclusive of a new feature ramp and public terrace. A new visual identity was created whilst maintaining the character of the existing building and responding to the adjacent Grade 1 listed Arts Building.
The building provides general teaching classrooms for the department along with offices and public performance spaces. A BREEAM very good rating will be achieved through the extensive refurbishment and thermal improvement works to the existing building. The project has been delivered to BIM Level 2 through close collaboration with the design team.
